Sugar Chocolate Pinwheels
Makes 18-24 cookies
2 cups of flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 stick butter
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp milk
Powdered sugar for rolling
In a mixer cream butter and egg on low.
Add milk and vanilla
In a small bowl combine flour, baking powder, and salt.
Slowly add to butter and egg while continuing to mix on low.
Add sugars and mix until a stiff dough forms. 3-5 minutes.
Set aside 1/4 of the dough
Roll out the dough over powdered sugar.
6 oz cocoa powder
4 tbsp butter
4 tbsp milk
1/4 cup sugar
Place a small saucepan over of a larger saucepan filled with warm water on the stove top on low (or use a double boiler)
Add all four ingredients
Stir constantly until melted and combined.
Let cool for 15 minutes in the fridge.
Combine the left over dough and chocolate mixture in the mixer.
Spread evenly over the sugar dough.
Roll up the dough tightly and slice into 1/2-3/4 inch cookies.
Bake in a preheated oven at 350 for 13-15 minutes.
